Just purchased a Kimber micro 9 stainless with the Crimson Trace Laser Grips. Will fire it next week, hoping to put about 200 rounds through it. I hope the weapon will settle in and not be so hard to rack the slide without cocking the hammer first.
I sure wish that all the manufacturers would quit making their hammers skeletonized, go back to the spur hammer.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois DDGM. Clean and lube your new Micro 9 before making that first range visit. While sitting watching TV, working the slide on your empty gun will help with the break in process.

Welcome and congratulations on the new purchase.

A very good cleaning and lubing will help the break-in and make your first range trip more pleasant. As Chuck has said, once cleaned and lubed, slide racking in front of the TV will also help things loosen up and settle in.

I'd suggest 124 gr. FMJ be used for your first few hundred rounds. These are tight pistols and regardless of what people say, need a break-in period to smooth out their actions.

I got mine 3 weeks ago and love it. Hope you have the same experience!

DDGM, welcome to the site from Tennessee. I agree with Chuck and Bigdog's advice about clean, I say extra lube and racking slide.
