New Menber

Living full time in our 5th wheel. Currently in Cincinnati Ohio but headed to Florida soon for warmer weather. Currently own a Sig SP2022 and P938. Looking at a Kimber 9mm Ultra Carry II when I get back to our home state of South Dakota to replace the P938. Looking for opinions on the Ultra Carry.

Welcome to the forum, DD.

You'll most likely get all positive comments on the Kimber Ultra's here. I have two for CC, .45 and 9mm, both equipped with night sights and Kimber ultra slim grips for IWB carry.

Both these pistols have given me 100% reliability and are more accurate than I am. I use both Kimber and Wilson Combat mags in both guns, and they're carried IWB in a Mitch Sparks Versamatic II rig.

For the hot summer shorts weather though, many times I favor my Kimber Micro 9 or my Sig P938......keep your P938! You'll be glad you did, as it's nice to have a smaller 9mm for those times when a small pistol is much more practical. If you go with a 9mm Ultra, you will have the advantage of common ammo for both guns.

Be safe on your trip south.

Looking at the current line of 9mm Ultras I would recommend the Ultra CDP. It’s has most features you would want in a carry gun and I’ve seen some good prices online. You get a lot of gun for a reasonable price. The listing was a quick search you may find one cheaper.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois ddphillips52. I have numerous Ultra's and they have all been problem free from day one. Basically they are all the same internally, it's the cosmetics on the outside that make the difference. Think of it like your P938 that Sig offers in 16 different models. As Rick suggested don't be too quick to get rid of your P938. My EDC is a Kimber Ultra Tactical II .45, during the winter months when parka's become part of my daily wear, I pocket carry my Sig P938 SAS. It's there to buy time until I can get to my Ultra Tactical carried on my hip.
