FNG from the going downhill fast PNW

Bought my first Kimber, Ultra Carry 2, last week and was looking for a place to learn the good, the bad, and the ugly. Not my first pistol, but my first .45 and 1911, not sure how I made it this far before buying one. I havenít neglected JMB though, I have a BHP that I have owned for 26 years and will never get sold!

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Lowapproach. Read your owners manual and clean & lube your Kimber before making that first range visit and you'll be golden.

I also own a UC2. I needed a little break-in time, but not as much as bandied about. I used full strength (cheap) hardball, and lots of CLP Break-Free.

I heard all of the "it's a combat gun, not a target model" rumors, but I have no trouble in chasing tennis balls and hitting the nine and ten ring--if I do my job. It's just more fun to chase cans and watch them fly.

As for weight, I carry the UC2 everyday I leave the house. We went to the coffee cafe' today, and I forgot to wear a shirt with tails. I notified the manager when I noticed, she told me to sit, relax and finish my coffee. No one said a word.

It's very portable, a Bianchi right kidney holster makes it disappear, and with a touch of my index finger, the trigger guard lock easily releases the pistol.

Thanks, used to spend a week every summer in Germantown doing recurrent simulator training for the airplane I was flying. That heat and humidity was terrible.
