Hello from Wi.

First time kimber purchase, micro 9 cdp(dn) custom shop. Love the feel of this little guy. Any thoughts on laser grips would be helpful 🤗

Welcome to the forum from Northeast, Pa. Congratulations on your micro 9.

Some people love lasers and some don’t. That’s something you have to decide for yourself.

Welcome.
I have always been a big fan of the Crimson Trace laser grips. And when I picked out my Micro 9 I bought the one that had them factory installed. CT makes a great product and they stand behind it no questions asked and you get lifetime free batteries.
When or if you install them on your Micro you will feel that they are a little bit fatter than the stock grips.
There have been folks on this forum that took them off and offered them for sale because they did not like them. They are pretty expensive if you buy them from the Kimber website however you might find them at other suppliers a lot cheaper. You might even inquire on this forum if there is anybody who wants to sell theirs at a discounted price.

You've hit on a key question of mine...how much fatter do they make the pistol? I put the Hogue wraparound grips on mine in the summer, so I'm not sweating on the frame, and they give me a better summer grip. Do the CT equipped ones make the pistol any "fatter" than the Hogues I have?

I cannot answer that question as I have never wrapped my hand around the grips you're speaking of. But I think they're a little thicker than the original wood grips that come on some Micros.
I can tell you that the Crimson Trace MS laser grips that I put on my Colt Defender are a lot thicker than the G 10 grips that came with it.
