Greetings from the wilds of Arkansas

Good afternoon all,
My name is Chris and I just picked up a Ultra Carry II. Modifications are very basic as in a proper detail strip with a clean and lube and upgrading to Kimpro Tac Mags with the low profile bumper pads installed. I've been a 1911 fan for ever and a day and cut my teeth on my Grandfather's 1915 M1911 that he "borrowed" when WWII ended. Since then there have been other Kimber's, Colt's, Wilson Combat's, and... No, that's it! Anyways... Glad to meet ya'll and you'll probably find me in the gunsmith section the most! I've been a machinist for 26 years now, love cutting steel, and have considered heading to Berryville a time or two to see if Bill would hire me!

Welcome Chris, from the wilds of NY State!
I use to be the supervisor of a corporate machine shop (although I'm not a machinist - imagine that!).
Best job I ever had... learned a LOT from those guys (and 1 gal).

First 1911 I ever fired (at the age of 12) was also 'borrowed'.

Thank you, all! Loving the Ultra and had a great range day with it! Might have to get some night sights on it but other than that it seems pretty perfect and has digested everything I've run through it!

Gltomp, I still have that M1911 and take it out every now and again along with my dad's Delta Elites.

Thank you, Chuck! I have a place in Michigan (About 75 miles south of Mackinaw CIty) and visit every chance I get! Sounds like a range day or some dream gun talk over beers might be in order! Thanks for having me!
