Is this thing on? Testing....Tap..Tap...TAPTAPTAP!

Hi from Texas.

I have one Kimber, an Ultra Carry, but I did my requals, decades ago, on a full size.

My Ultra Carry is not my favorite gun but since a girl friend just got one and loved it, I started looking to see if there is anything I am doing wrong......but it's not my first gun. Carried a USP for decades.

But here I am!

What do you think you might be doing wrong...with the Ultra?

Unless it is perfectly clean, rounds tend to stove pipe on ejection. On expensive $45 magazines, with a full metal stepped follower, the last round or two tends to tumble, leading to jams.

I have noticed that my TLE Ultra can be a little finicky with magazines & stovepipes. Went to a different magazine and have had no issues.

Is it doing this with all ammo? For range ammo, I generally run Orr Tactical out of Needville (SW of Houston) and have good reliability with it.

Also, how many rounds have you run on that recoil spring? It may be getting a little worn as well.

Are you running it really well lubed? New Kimbers like to be broken in with plenty of lube, and you might want to lube it up and rack the slide a bunch of times (100+) while watching TV.
