Hello from Southern California

I am very new to this and I am looking for all the help that I can get. I have never owned a gun before and I am 46 years old. I just waited my 10 days here in California and was able to pick up my Kimber Stainless II .45 yesterday from Turners Outdoors. I noticed that my gun had discoloration on the barrel. I am sure their is already a thread for this issue but i'm not sure where to look. Any advice would help. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum from Ohio. I'm guessing it's just from the test firing at the factory. You'll need to clean it thoroughly before your first range visit and the barrel should clean up fine.

welcome . I would take it back also . looks like rust that should not happen to a new pistol in a gun shop usually a new gun will have a little extra oil on it when new to prevent this . they should have seen that when they racked the slide to check for a clear gun.

Welcome to the forum from another Southern Californian! Good looking Kimber if it is new take it back to Turner's if it is used You could take it to a gunsmith and see if it will effect the way it shoots. I doubt that it will. If it is new get a new barrel from Kimber. At Kimber's expense
