eight plus one ?

Just bought a Stainless Raptor pro 11 four inch. I'm new to the forum and probably have a standard question. I chamber one round then reload the mag with the full eight it's a real chore to get the magazine to lock into position. Like very hard.I called Kimber and they told me this is typical and the gun will still function fine. Any comments or observations. I have had a CDP11 in the past and it functioned flawlessly and I don't recall any loading issues but it's been about four years. Thanks, John

How is it when you just load a full mag?

When inserting the magazine, push it all the way up, then hit it with the heel of your hand. You want it to be seated all the way, all the time. If you don't get it all the way in and the catch is just barely holding the magazine in place, you might end up with the magazine at your feet when you need your gun the most.

Do this with all your pistols. Getting it wrong is not an option.

Yep, what he said.

I have a SS Pro Raptor and it works just fine if you give it a firm bump.

I have a new SS Raptor 5" and you have to insert the magazine with some authority. My Eclipse was the same way. It gets better and I've never had a problem with either gun from forcefully inserting the mag.

Snake15 welcome to the forum from Northeast, Pa.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Snake15 and congratulations on the new SS Raptor II Pro. That stiffness and resistance you're experiencing will loosen up and smooth out as the gun is used and broken in.

Congratulations on your new Raptor! At first pull the slide back then insert your loaded magazine. Then rack your slide. After about 50 to a hundred rounds this will not be necessary. Peace
