Hi From Florida

Just Bought a pro carry II. Crazy about 1911's. first Kimber though, could use some advice about recoil spring or how to make the slide easier on the hands as I am not a young buck and am right handed with some arthritis in hand. Any suggestion's will be helpful.

Welcome to the forum from Ohio. I have the same gun and am in the same shape as you. Clean and lube your new Kimber as per your owners manual then follow their recommended break in procedure and it will get easier. After about 800 rounds change the recoil spring. A lot of members change to the Wilson Combat flatwire set up and seem to love it.

Thanks, I have about 300 rounds thru it now. Any particular ammo that you would recommend, Is it just me, or is the Kimber somewhat finicky when it comes to ammo?

Welcome from Northern Illinois, and a fan of the Wilson Flatwire spring for pro models. what do you mean by finicky? Generally mine will eat anything I put through it.

Welcome to the KT Forum from another Floridian. Many of us here buy/use ammo from Freedom Munitions.Either new or re-manufactured it is always reliable and fairly priced.

I don't like shooting Winchester White Box ammo. Seems to give problems.

Freedom Munitions remanufactured RN works great.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois and congratulations on the new Pro Carry II. Stick with basic 230 gr. FMJ for your break in period, a lot of members here shoot Freedom Munitions reloads.
