I joined last year but due to a computer crash, lost my password and user name.
Waited for the email to reset the password but it never came so I re-joined under
a new email, user name and password. Hope I didn't step on any toes by doing so.
Anyway, as an introduction, I'm a 66 year old retired LEO, Vietnam Vet 68-69 and a
TET Survivor for both years. I have a small farm, just 28 acres in East TN, my own
shooting range and dog that loves me and a
wife that does too.
I recently acquired a SOLO Carry SS to go with my Kimber Master Carry I bought
when I joined last year and have a question about it. The not so gun savvy gentleman
I got it from had re-assembled it and put the
slide stop spring on top of the slide stop and not in the provided groove.
It would not hold the slide back and so he, being the not so savvy
individual he is, jumped at the chance to trade it off for a for a Beretta
NANO I had. Took me about 5 minutes to figure out something was
wrong, disassemble it, bend the spring back in place and reassemble
it. Shot 25 rounds of Hornady 147 gr XTP thru it without a hitch.
But, I'd like to know if anyone can tell me where to get a new slide
stop spring or do I have to go thru Kimber for one. I really like this
SOLO SS. With a loaded mag, it weighs the same 20.7 ounces as my
KAHR PM9, but being used to carrying a 1911 for most of my career
(41 years) I like the feel and ergonomics of the SOLO better by far.
Thanks
Dano

Duh! Of course! I should have thought of that. I'll check thier
site out and see if they're listed. I'll blame it on lack of sleep. Had a
leg cramp last night about 0200 that ruined the rest of the night for me.
Hadn't had a cramp in years and hope it's years before I have another.
Thing wouldn't let go until my wife got me an ice pack to put on it.
Thanks Snake,
Dano

It seems to work just fine, but anytime you go bending a spring, it's
going to be damaged. I'd like to replace it just to be sure.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois again. I doubt you're going to be able to find a "slide stop spring" anywhere but from Kimber. Give customer service a call, it wouldn't surprise me if they sent you one for free.

I think I remember you or because you live in East Tennessee and I live in Chattanooga. Plus seems like I remember your Master Carry, I have a Master Carry Pro that I really like.

Welcome back again Dano.
