Hi from the high desert

Hello all, long time gun owner, but first time Kimber owner
. So the story goes like this, long time ago I had 2 Colt 1911s, and shot them a lot. Got moved to Phoenix, and both got stolen my first night in town. What with a new job, then getting married, I didn't replace them. When I started shooting again, I ended up going the high capacity 9 route with a Springfield XD-M, which I still have and love, and then a XD 45 , because I am a 45 guy at heart. My wife and I got our CCW permits earlier this year, I got a 45 XD-S and she got an ultra carry in 9mm. I like the XD-S Ok, but the minute I shot her Kimber I experienced lust in my heart. So I sold my XD 45 and got a great deal on an Tactical Pro II, wow I live this gun , and now I carry it more than I do the XD-S. Being as I have some spare time In the summer (HS teacher) I have been shooting a lot more. NIce to be blessed with NM weather! Anyway, seems like a nice forum, and I'll be seeing you guys around.

Welcome from Northeast, Pa. I just sold my XDS 45 and used the money for a Diamond Ultra-9. I liked the XDS, very reliable and accurate but it doesn't compare to a 1911 IMO. The 1911 I bought is about 3x the cost of an XDS so it's not a fair comparison. You can find new a XDS for around $400 and it will serve you well for many years.
