Are you old enough to remember that time before TV when the family would gather around the radio in the evening and listen to the latest episode of "The Shadow" or "Dick Tracy" or on Sunday morning when they'd read the funnies from the Sunday paper for the kids? As a kid I was fascinated by the radio and those family times and that fascination lead me to another hobby, collecting those old shows. My interest lies in detective, mystery and adventure stories, my collection has 5916 episodes of 95 shows that take almost 50GB of space. I'm just curious, is anyone else on the forum interested in old time radio shows?

I'm with bigdog10 on the color TV. First color TV I saw was about 1963/4, summer before 5th grade. We were staying at a motel for Dad's PCS. Two shows I saw was a Jacques Cousteau special and Mitch Miller. I have always remembered the underwater special and since become a SCUBA diver (love it.) I can't sing, so I don't sing along with Mitch. Can't grow a good goatee either.

Radio no. We had a black and white tv, most of the time you could see three channels. My dads sister was the first to have a color TV, always liked going there.

You're closer to Cleveland. All we could get was Toledo.
