Sounds like a "phishing" scam to me.

Careful about your e-mail for a while.

I opened mine and got a supposed request from Pay Pal to 'confirm' my account. The trouble is I have no such account. I deleted the request with no response, at all.

(I'm going to call my bank this morning, anyway).

This stuff seems too come in waves. Be careful if you get one of these.

That's what I figured.

My wife and I have been discussing getting LifeLock. I hear the ads on the radio constantly, but I don't really know if this kind of thing is worth the money.

We're retired, and we've know on sight at the bank because we've lived here for three decades, but some of these guys can defeat the encryption codes at retail stores.

It just bugs me when I get these kind of e-mails--and I worry enough...LOL

Life just wouldn't be normal for you if you didn't have something to worry about, would it?

Rather than just deleting a suspicious email, please report it to the legitimate company. For PayPal, forward those emails to [email protected]. They will investigate, and hopefully track down and prosecute the perps that are preying on folks through these scams. Most internet companies have similar ways to report these suspicious emails. I know that Amazon and eBay does, as well.

Please don't tell a Chico the world's coming to an end, or the Easter bunny isn't real. I am not sure how much more he can take.

Ya' know, I'm never going to tell you guys another private thing again. LOL.

Actually, just getting into the final recuperative stages took a lot of the issues away. SnowTao wants me to eat more protein, my doctor thinks I'm fine, my wife wants more spending money, my dog thinks I'm her pet--you all have an agenda!

Truth be told, I don't know a lot about what you can and cannot do with computers. They run local TV news stories on stuff like this quite often.

Anybody get those phone call from the IRS (calls originate from Washington state) demanding payment of past due taxes or be arrested? We did twice now, and reported the calls to our state attorney general's office.

Yeah, I got a couple. The first time they tried it, It was one of those rare days when was in a particularly chatty mood. The guy said they would come to my house, and I welcomed him with language unbecoming of a Kimber owner, and told him the things I would do to him if he showed up at my doorstep. My wife overheard with wide eyes and her mouth agape, and as soon as the phone was hung up, chastised me for my crude language. She was right, I was wrong.

Most of the time, blocking anonymous calls, and using NoMoRobo protects us from intrusive phone calls.
