What are you going to do?

No right or wrong answers, I am looking for discussion, We all have different scenarios to deal with, Kids, Family members, pets. Proximity of your home to Police Department. So What will you do?

Its 11.30 pm Saturday night you and your Significant other have been out with friends, Dinner, Dancing, And a couple of drinks. Your not too intoxicated to drive. Your EDC is in your console of your vehicle.
You turn into your home, there is a strange car in your driveway Headlights off, engine running, tinted windows, You cant see inside of the car.
Front door of your house is partially open, You see movement tru the windows.
Where are your Kids? Your Pets? Your Parents?
What you going to do?

Problem #1 is "Not too drunk to drive" ?

No such thing here in the Show Me State..It's called driving under the influence and if you don't have your gun unloaded and in a safe you're in deep shit..

#2..If you're going to be drinking at all leave your weapon at home...That's the price that you pay for having a night out of drinking..

#3..That's why taxis are available to take our drunk/been drinking assess home...

#4..Pick the biggest cab driver that you can and flip him a Benjamin {$100} to handle the unknown car and people in the car sitting in your driveway and in your house..

#5..Call 911

Yell.... Eeeeeek! Raise your hands and run!

Call 911, move inside and check things out and hope its not your daughters boyfriend dropping her off.

Seriously, too many scenarios.

Yep. Same here in N.C. you cannot have any alcohol in your system and carry your firearm.
As for the rest, back away and maintain visual contact and call 911. That's all you can do.

Does your alcohol/gun rules apply to defending your home?

Of course...Now I wouldn't give a rats ass if I was drunk in my home and someone broke in because he/they will get shot and I will take my chances with a jury of my peers..

Problem is it's not what's in your house anymore. They kill you for kicks. Screw 911 I call 1911.
