well, the zoo trip not happening :-(

...my 7 year old daughter's day care is going to the Atlanta zoo tomorrow. With the protests going on I was leaning towards keeping her home. Just heard that Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed is thinking of calling in the National Guard because things are getting out of hand, lots of "agitators" from outside our area have shown up I guess?
...she'll be staying home tomorrow :-)

I was just downtown this morning, on 14th/west peachtree, no problems, I think protesting is evening deal and I don't think it is over on boulevard. I appreciate your concern however, maybe call APD for info.

I'm sure it probably would be ok but it's not necessary so we'll do something else up our way. It's more a concern about them getting stuck in traffic if anything nuts goes down. The little old lady that drives the daycare bus is a good driver but if you live in Atlanta you how traffic can be. I don't want to think of what it will be like if they have to call in the National Guard? I'm off tomorrow so I'd rather spend the time with her :-)

Hope all is well down that way...heading through there early Wednesday morning...I-75 southbound. It doesn't take much to fowl up the traffic there anyway.

When in doubt ,stay out.Let things settle down a bit and then plan a trip to the zoo with her. You'll both feel more comfortable and enjoy the experience more.

I detest going down town. I used to work at Colony Square and then the IBM Tower. I was over joyed when they assigned me a north Georgia remote territory.
IMO, Atlanta is a zoo.

I just wish they had a better route around that place, hate going through there....hard to pick a good time heading south...from the south I like to go through around 11 am to 1 PM.

The traffic between Riverdale and Henry County is a joke (not a Ha, Ha funny one)

Oh, and someone decided they would try to work on or improve all the major arteries all at once, so now it's even worse than normal.

Unfortunately, the only way to get to Florida from N. GA is straight through downtown, unless you want to all another 100 miles to your trip.
