Ever Wonder Why?

Just wondering why so many people take the time to join a forum then never participate in them. The stat box on our main page says we have 2852 members and the member list under the community button says we only have 2709, now that itself is strange.

Anyway back to what I was saying, of the 2709 members on the community list only 557 have bothered to make a 1st post.

That leaves us with 2152 members that have never posted and a good number of them have never returned to the forum since the day they registered, really strange.

So now you're asking yourself why the hell I'm doing this, I'll tell you, it's either do stuff like this or wash the windows on the outside of the house and I don't want to wash windows today.

I imagine there are many people who join just to window shop at the Kimber brand and what other members say about pros/cons of a firearm they are interested in buying.
I had a neighbor who was with Missouri State Patrol and was in the academy for the FBI and he told me that they routinely looked through gun forums to read about so called "gun nuts" and what they were saying.
He also told me never to post a pic of a gun anywhere on the internet because that just makes their job easier to know what we have/had.
{guess I didn't listen to that piece of advise}..

I never worry about that, and if anything, it proves what I had if an insurance company ever doubts me.

as far as posting, I think people often join to use search features. It's like politics and clubs and everything else- a small amount of the people are the active ones.

I keep a CD with a video of all my guns and their serial numbers in my safe deposit box and my son has a copy of it at his home.

Yep. Drama is for TV, not here.

We are definitely different, it probably has something to with our age and the cost of Kimbers.

Never thought of it that way Chuck. But you know, there is a common denominator and I do find a totally different group here than elsewhere. Good observation. Just my 2 cents and to show, yes, still here.

Look at our age poll, I called under 40 still a kid and 7 guys that voted fell into that category. Our members tend to talk about grandchildren and bourbon you never see comments like "I'd put a cap in his ass" and the only time "Dude" is used is when we're talking about Denny, Dude22.
