White man shot by police in Clinton, NC

Have any of you heard about this? Just came across it on Fox newsfeed. Says he was shot 14 times, but officers shot 143 times! Could that be correct?

If my math is correct that would be a 10% success rate with the LEO shooting their bad guy....

Your math is good, another way of looking at it is 129 of the shots fired (90%) missed.

That's a bad stat, but then again we stand in front of a paper target that doesn't shoot back at us...

I can't imagine the adrenaline that is happening to the LEO's in a time like this...

I had a friend one time told me how many thousand of rounds it took in Vietnam to kill an enemy soldier. I guess it helps the Ammo Industry...

Back in the day when I was following the stats on the on going war the number of rounds fired per enemy killed was around 20,000+. This was attributed to the spray and pray attitude taken by the troops. Give them weapons with the ability to fire fully automatic, it's much easier then teaching them to hit a target with a single shot.

Lets be fair the target was probably falling rapidly at least causing some of those misses. I am thankful no bystanders were hit.

I hear a lot of automatic fire coming from the local LEO range. I hope they're planning on using those in some overseas jungle or desert and not in downtown Spokane. At that rate, that leaves 19,999 bullets hitting something other than the bad guy.
