Getting ready for the hurricane.

Stores were insane today. Gas lines- gas jumped 20 cents in a day, go figure.

No water or batteries anywhere. Stress levels around town are pretty high. We last had a direct hit in 2004, when the eyes of Francis and Jeanne came ashore directly over my town, three weeks apart. That pretty much sucked. My office was destroyed.

Hopefully this thing stays out to sea and all we get is a tropical storm.

Will keep some fingers crossed for you. Hopefully it will turn??? I lived in New Orleans for a while and although I never went through one it was a yearly ritual to track those babies. Be safe

The Atlanta and Columbia papers are reporting U of South Carolina has canceled classes from tomorrow on and that the UGA-USC game could be moved to Atlanta on Saturday. Everyone is in a wait and see mode but SC's Governor says Saturday will be "brutal."

Getting closer now. Some models are showing the hurricane looping around for a second pass next week. We are keeping our fingers crossed on this one. Hopefully it will all be over by Friday afternoon.

They are starting lane changes out of Charleston on I-26 to I-77. You have to take back roads to the coast if you want to go.

Remembering HUGO in 1989, my daughter and her family left Charleston S.C. last night on I-26. It quickly became a parking lot as I-95 North/South hurricane runners merged onto I-26. It pays to keep your gas tanks full during hurricane season.

She/we received our 'running training' while living in Savannah for 30 years.
