Chicago police release video of female officer beating

This is what it's coming to, police officers afraid to use their guns.

CHICAGO — Chicago police have released video in the arrest of a man who was charged in the severe beating of a female officer.

28-year-old Maywood man Parta Huff crashed his car into a Austin liquor store at the corner of Roosevelt Rd and Cicero Ave on the morning of October 5.

Bystanders flagged down police. Witness told WGN News he appeared to be "out of it."

When the officers arrived they initially went to see if Huff needed help.

Huff was combative and started to struggle with the officers.
The video show the female officer grabbing one part of her handcuffs and placing the other on Huff's wrists.

The video shows Huff slam the officer onto the street.

Authorities say the officer suffered a concussion, bone chips to her shoulder, a wrist and a neck injury and had to have bits of concrete pulled from her face.

The incident drew wide attention when police Superintendent Eddie Johnson noted that the officer didn't shoot huff because she was afraid of the potential scrutiny.

“This attack went on for several minutes,” he said. “As I was at the hospital last night visiting with her, she looked at me and said she thought she was going to die and she knew that she should shoot this guy but she chose not to because she didn’t want her family or the department to have to go through the scrutiny the next day on the national news.”

Johnson says the video is an example of how Chicago officers put their lives on the line every day. But he says it's also an example of what can happen when officers are under such extreme scrutiny, that they become afraid to use their weapons.

Huff tested positive for PCP. He had appeared in court that same day for pushing a Forest Park officer to the ground during a traffic stop, according to police.

Huff is being held without bail on charges of attempted murder of a police officer and aggravated battery to a police officer.

The female officer is said to still be recovering.

Unfortunately, she's right.

Had that pile of human debris been shot like the rabid dog he is, the media would have characterized him as a family man planning on college and loved by all who knew him. Just walking down the street minding his own business when the police rolled up and murdered him for no reason because cops have implicit bias as Hillary and Obama tell us.
