Angry Precedent for negotiating with terrorists

Well, you know who has done you know what. The US has a standing policy of not doing this but, after 5 years of failure to recover an American being held prisoner by the Taliban, you know who has decided to release 5 terrorists from Guantanamo in exchange for this American.

It can only get worse from here.

There is no reason for them not to negotiate with us at this point, since he has told them when we will leave Afghanistan. All they need to do is wait until next year.

I'm glad that Sgt Bowe Bergdahl is coming back to American soil, but this was done just to get the VA scandal off of the front page for awhile.
Andrew Tahmooressi is a decorated marine who is still rotting in a Mexican jail cell 12 miles from San Diego for simply having firearms in his truck after accidentally making a wrong turn at the border.

I agree. This Bergdahl situation is wrong on so very many levels. 1. no negotiation, 2. traded 5 terrorist leaders for 1 possible AWOL soldier, 3. smacks so violently of political face painting, 4. waited a year after initial offer from terrorists to make trade, 5. failed to inform congress of release of Gitmo prisoners in a timely manner making action illegal. 6. showed complete disrespect for long standing policy.
I could go on but it would be useless. This regime has demonstrated, since day one, they have no respect for America or it's laws, policies and traditions.

I'm happy to hear that Sgt Bowe Bergdahl was finally released but why is there no mention of who these 5 terrorists are, what they've done and what they could potentially do?

Here are the 5 detainees {terrorists} that were released.
They are mid to high level of the Taliban regime...

These 5 "detainees" have been held at Gitmo for 10-13 years in a cell 23 hours a day and have been harshly interrogated, possibly waterboarded and I guarantee they are pissed off at America.
If you think for one minute they are going home to become model citizens and not return to their old ways, then you win the "DUH" award.
A p.o.w is coming home, but how many lives will be lost in the future and how many died to capture these 5 in the first place for one soldier who walked away {AWOL} from his post??
