Oh the humanity!

You may recall about a week or so ago that an electrician had to come out and before I knew it I had to have a 3-ft deep trench dug about 50 yards without knowing what it would cost. Luckily the electric company paid some. I don't know how much but I just got the bill....$3,100.00! OMG! You could buy two or three Kimbers for that! the only good thing is that being old, I have it in the bank. 20 years ago I'da been up shit creek without a paddle to get an unexpected 3k bill. Still, 3 large hurts, I don't care who you are. It's one thing if you buy something for that and then have something to show for it....but when you have to spend that just to get back to where you were....well that blows!

Wow, you're right that is a bite in the ass but now you've got a new power line. Did they put the new line in conduit or do a direct burial? If they put it in conduit and you have trouble in the future they can pull the line without digging up the yard.

I wasn't there when they put down the line but in the picture I see some PVC pipe that looks to be about 3-4 inches in size...I assume that is the conduit. I would also assume that since the electric company paid for the line to run underground they have some kind of specs or requirements.

Look on the bright side - at least you didn't have to SELL any Kimbers to pay for it!!

That's exactly how it felt. I looked at the bill and noticed I was holding my crotch.
