That's what I use in my truck, but do yourself a favor and replace the cheap cable that comes with it with a kryptonite cable...

For the price, I was thinking of getting one? Read the reviews but most were complaints about the mechanism being plastic? Do you like yours?

There you go, that one is nice.... on the plastic, the complaints where on the tumbler/lock being plastic, not the "box". I like yours, the 500, better.

I got this one for Christmas a year or two ago, all heavy gauge steel and a solid lock. I think it was in the $60.00 neighborhood.

My truck has a rear seat that lifts up on the drivers side and there is a little place to slide the safe into. I have the cable wrapped around the frame of the seat with just enough cable left to slide it out..

Now if they can be fast enough not to draw attention to themselves when the alarm goes off and carry a sawzall with them then more power to them...The only time that my gun is in the safe is when I'm at work and I park my truck under the window of the office where there is a camera looking right at my truck..Otherwise it's always with me...

At first I thought I was nuts to pay almost $200 for a safe, but when you think about it my edc is a $1K UC Raptor so it was well worth the $$$.

Ditto on the cable around the frame of the seat, mine fits under the drivers bucket from the rear, access is from the back door.

Chuck, Marshall,

You guys don't have locking center consoles? I dunno. That's where mine goes when I can't carry it on my person for whatever reason.

Plus, I got a 4" lift and 35" tires on my truck. So IF they were to break in, they'd have to climb up in all while the alarm is going off making a scene.

I guess a safe wouldnt be a bad idea for the ol lady's sedan......but I'm comfortable with the extra layers of security in my truck. I mean they aint gonna just smash the window, reach in and pry open the locked console....

I ordered this for my 3500HD but have nothing for my car. Center console in my car locks but too small, useless... but I have 72 cup holders!! Note: this pic is from the mfg, not mine.
