Now You See it-Now You Don't

Thought I would share this idea for gun storage.
Helped a friend recently install an in wall long gun safe. The Stack on brand with the electronic lock. It came out really well and was fairly easy to do. It was placed in a closet behind a piece of pegboard that was already there. We hinged the pegboard with 2, 30 inch piano type hinges available from Lowes. The nice part was the holes in the hinges matched perfectly with the spacing of the holes in the pegboard. We then just used furring strips on the back of the pegboard to stiffen it up. This is meant for long term storage where quick access is NOT needed.

Thought about those a while ago. But when you live in an old house where they never knew the meaning of 16" on center and the walls are lathe with plaster, foe-getta-boud-it.
Otherwise I like the idea.

Nice work, who'd ever think to look in a wall for a gun safe?

Thanks for all the "likes" on this. It was fun to do and did not take that long to do. We're now thinking about putting in 2 more. One on either side of this one.
