Anyone shoot indoor GSSF?

I know many of you have done some competition shooting, but I was wondering if any of you have shot indoor league GSSF? I took an intro to GSSF a few weeks ago and shot the practice course that day. Scored 394 the first time, 411 the second. I need help with shooting at 25 yards, that's where I am losing points. I don't mind too much if I hit the 5 ring, but I'd like to avoid missing altogether. First, I was hitting too low, then trying to adjust I was hitting too high and was shooting too fast, not taking advantage of the 30 seconds at 25 yards. I'm wondering if anyone has some advice to help me stay on target at that distance? It doesn't help that the NRA target is barely visible at 25 yards.

Today I practice shot it but not with the NRA target and shot 450, which I'm happy with but I slowed down and took the full 30 seconds at 25 yards, and this target was more visible. At 25 yards, what should my sight picture look like? Thanks.

PS you don't have to shoot GSSF to answer my question, just know how to shoot at 25 yards. I never practice shooting at 25 yards with my Kimbers, guess I should give it a try once in a while.

Have you tried shooting about 7 yards, then moving back in increments to about 25 yards? I was first taught to shoot in the Army with a BB gun....point and shoot. Started with the basics and moved up. Was watching the Rifleman today....bad guys out of town shooting at a sign. The length of the barrel has a lot to do with it also.....just my thoughts.

What type of gun are you using ? I would think a heavy long barrel gun with a light trigger would help. I'm no expert and my vision isn't good for distance but I know I shoot a 5" gun better than a 3" gun at 25 yards.

Since it's Glock Sport Shooting Foundation, I have to use a Glock. I have a Glock 19. The course is 5yds 10 shots 15 seconds, 8 yds 10 shots 15 seconds, then 17 yds 10 shots 15 seconds. New target: 25 yds 10 shots 30 seconds, 17 yds 5 shots 15 seconds, 8 yds 5 shots 15 seconds.

I'm getting better with the 17 yards, it's the 25 yds that I had misses on the tombstone target.

I would like to see if you were shooting with a 1911 Pro 9mm, would your score improve. I know it's a Glock event but it would be interesting.

That's what I thought too. I'm not into competition of any kind, but I thought it would help me to get used to shooting under stress, and hopefully improve my shooting. I've only shot it 3 times as practice and haven't shot the actual competition yet. They give away Glock pistols too. So what the heck, even if I bomb out, I still have a chance to win a pistol.

Sorry can't help with the Glock shooting. Back in the day I was doing the 3-gun shoots, pretty much like it sounds pistol, rifle, shotgun of your choice. They were always fun, I'm sure the Glock thing is to.

My best advise: Forget you are on a timer! Don't waste time but Aim, take the shot. The quickness will come with practice.
