I found the key to the bar and it's open for business

This is great. A four day weekend. So I opened the bar on a Monday. Jim Beam Straight Rye for me.

And I got a couple of new toys this weekend. I got this stuff from an estate and when I say for next to nothing, I mean it. No, it's not a gun, although a couple of guns should be heading my way in the next six weeks. This is a Telecaster 72 reissue, crafted in Japan. Exceedingly cool. And it came with the Marshall DSL401. Friggin loud!! I feel like I'm in Spinal Tap.

Guitars are like guns, with one small exception. I like guns (duh), and they are relatively compact. Well somewhat compact- last week our conversation at home was my wife "get those rifles out of the bathroom!" Still, you can easily sneak in a pistol or two, or twenty.

Guitars and amps, not so much. Thank God I have an office. These thinks take up some space. but, they are cool and you can never be to cool.

Awesome looking six string that you have there Jeff. With a name like that on your speaker it has to be good....

Any-Hoo, just arrived home not to long ago after picking up my DW and to say that I'm thirsty would be an understatement.

Looking to the SKYY this evening...

We have a brand new local distillery just down the hill - they make a great rye - a newly acquired bad habit for me.

GREAT nab on some great toys, Gmountain! My latest musical acquisition is a Kamaka 8-string Ukulele - had to have one after we went on the Kamaka factory tour in Honolulu - just plain fun!

I've heard of a lotta restricted CC areas, but that's a new one for me.

'Guitars are like guns'

That's for sure! They do take up space but you cannot have too many of them!

Good move on the Japanese Tele. I have heard they are quite well made. How are the pups and the controls? Hopefully quiet on the controls and clear on the pups! If you can hold it in your hands and pluck a D string without the amp and still feel vibration in the neck, it's a keeper.

Not real familiar with that model Marshall, is it tube, transistor or a mix of both? No matter, it will rock!

Love stories where guys get a 'find'.

Good on ya,

Russ

Finally getting a chance to sit down and enjoy a bourbon before it's time for the fireworks, cheers.

Sipping my last Skyy of the evening since it's a school night. I have been thinking that it's been Friday all day long until reality just smacked me in the face.....
