A little ahead of ya since we're half way through our first bucket. The Cardinals are playing the Mets so it was an early start for us..

If you ever come down to see a spring training came, let me know. I'm right between the Mets and the Cards.

Just a coke for me, thanks. Going to the range early in the morning to beat the heat. Local range is pretty much empty on Sunday mornings. Taking three 9mms, two .45s and my .44mag rifle. Already have the steel plates and target standards in the truck. Tudor's Biscuit World for breakfast and off to make noise and punch holes in stuff.

What's that .44 mag rifle you have? I have an Ruger Model 44 that I bought when they first came out in 61. I needed something light to carry and fast to shoot when hunting deer walking some of the deep washes in Wyoming. It was a fair to middling 5 MOA 100 yard rifle when I first got it. Working on the bedding and developing hand loads for it turned it into a 1 MOA semi auto that I could easily take a deer or antelope with at 150 yards. I always wanted to have one converted to .41 mag that I always favored over the .44 in handguns. I found it to be a much flatter shooting round with about equal knock down power.

I have the Ruger 77/44 bolt action, Leupold VX-2, 1x4 scope, synthetic stock, and a cool para-cord sling. I added a cheek pad from a Berretta shotgun, a thicker butt pad, and an 8oz recoil reducer inside the stock to slow down the recoil and improve balance. I did a trigger job using a Timney parts kit. Reduced the trigger pull from 8 to 4 lbs. From sandbags it shoots one hole groups at 25 yrds and last time out I was able to hammer an 8" plate at 100 yrds, freehand with the sling but no rest. I worked up two loads, one with 240grn XTPs and one with some new plated bullets. I love this little rifle!
