Solar Eclipse

You probably already know but the US will see a solar eclipse on 8/21 Here's a link to see what percentage of the sun will be eclipsed in your area. Just type in your zip code. We've ordered our glasses to watch it. It's only going to be 81% eclipsed in our area but that's still cool! Here's the link: https://www.vox.com/science-and-heal...nteractive-map

I feel we're getting gypped.
We're only gonna get 61.9%.

That's alright. It rains everyday here so it'll probably be raining on the 21st I live in the rainiest city in the US so go figure on total cloud coverage on eclipse day.

Same here. Haven't seen any eclipses on a clear day or night since around the mid 60's... what a fiasco. Talk about chicken little yelling the sky is falling and people running around saying the world is coming to an end. Lmao.
Chart says we'll see about 71%ish if the weather is nice.

Did someone say "eclipse"?

We're near the path of totality, and have been advised to expect one MILLION visitors to Oregon, and around 300,000 to our area here in the center of the state. That's more than double the amount of people that actually live here, so it sounds to be a total fiasco with sold out stores, no gas, and crowds galore.

Most locals I've talked to just plan to stay at home and let the throngs do their thing, as the highways will be clogged with traffic anyway with no where to go. Emergency planners have been planning for this for almost a year now with warnings weekly to the locals.

NOT my thing! (I saw the last one in 1979 here, so I'll stay home and fondle my Kimbers!)

Huh, in my zip I will see a 95.7% eclipse of the sun, but if I travel 94 miles northeast I can 100%, which looks very cool on the graphic! Thanks for the info.

Were getting 100%. Folks are going bonkers. State Troopers, Sheriffs Dept And City Police are giving it 100%; days off canceled; some schools are cancelling classes; City is planning a big to do about it with concert, fairs, etc. Hospitals, Fire Dept and EMS are going to be at full strength. And me? I'll sit in my backyard and have a beer with my "approved" glasses, and of course my trusty firearm of the day, probably my Black Ultra in .45 at my side. .
