The Rhinestone Cowboy

We lost Glenn Campbell today. So many today have no idea how big he was. The biggest thing on TV and in country music. Funny, talented, a great song writer and singer. The Glenn Campbell Show was a part of our childhoods.

RIP and ride slow ....we'll miss the Rhinestone Cowboy...

I think a lot do. The others that don't are quite not from that era.
RIP cowboy.

We watched his Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour when I was a kid back in the day. Godspeed Cowboy! You'll be missed.

I just saw that on the evening news and it sorta put a knot in my stomach.

Back in the 70's my father would listen to country music on vinyl records after dinner most evenings. He had his favorites to listen to, Charlie Rich, Freddy Fender, Waylon & Willie to name a few, but his favorite to listen to or so it seemed was Glen.

Sitting upstairs in my room doing my homework I would sing along and knew every word to his songs. I know a few miles from here my father is watching the news and more than likely has that same knot in his stomach.

RIP Glen and thanks for the life long memories that you gave this guy from St Lou.

I remember all that the show and everything had a nice voice and for a singer I thought he did a pretty decent job in True Grit.
P.S. I hate it when you guys remind me how old I am.

A very sad situation to hear about. I can't but wonder about his family. I'm sure they feel a huge relief as well as a great sadness. His mental health and physical health deteriorated quite rapidly. RIP!

Campbell was also an amazing guitar player....very underrated. I remember seeing him and Roy Clark play a song on the same guitar at the same time ... one of the most amazing pieces of music I've ever heard.

* just remembered the song ..."The William Tell Overture" or the theme from "The Lone Ranger"...amazing!...on a guitar !!
