I've been absent from here for the last couple of days because we spent Thursday and Friday setting up out annual Friends of NRA event.
The Friends of NRA gives grant money to support the shooting sports. We fund Eddie the Eagle programs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, disabled veterans shooting sports, high school shooting, kids archery, and all sort of similar programs, to keep the shooting sports alive and to support the Second Amendment.
We are non political. No money raised goes for any political purpose. All the money is distributed as grants. The events are fun, and the money is used for a great purpose.
Last night we held our annual event. We had our best year ever- grossed over $122,000, and netted about $70,000. This morning I'm off to some gun shops to see people picking up their guns- at last count we had about 40 people that needed to get their guns. There was also a lot of other great merchandise, a fantastic dinner, and lot's of happy people.
If you want to get involved in something that makes a difference, this is a good way to do it. These events are held at more than 1100 locations around the country, and it's all volunteers that do it.
Pictures of my guns later!
