Howz about some Slow Cooker Recipes?

Weather is getting chillier and we got a new slow cooker. We are always looking for new recipes from folks we know. I got one online that I switched a bit.

It's called Mississippi Pot Roast. Share some of your slow cooker recipes here. Slow Cooker ONLY please!

Always good to have cooler weather comfort food. Was up today at 0400 to make a pot of Mississippi Pot Roast. Why so early? If you want to eat by dinner or like we do on Sundays, you want it in time for a 1300-1400 sit down.

(Between you and me, next time, start it before bed. Screw 0400 on a Sunday.... )

Started out with a 5.26lb roast. Peppered and browned in a pan. 2 sticks of budda, 16 pepperoncini peppers, 2 packs ranch dressing powder, 2 packs au jus powder and about 9 hours in a slow cooker set to low! Remove meat from juices, use about 3 tblespoons of corn starch in a cup and a half of cold water. Stir till fully desolved. Stir into gravy slowly to thicken then add meat back in and stir good. Let simmer on low for another 30 mins and serve over mashed potatoes and sides of whatever you like. We chose carrots and red cabbage. Couple pieces of multigrain bread!

Yum yum!
This makes a lot of meat. Probably 5-6 people or more.

Next time I may convert it to a nice German Sauerbraten.
Enjoy!

Look delicious John! Is that red cabbage I see there too, yum! Pot roast, beef stew, chicken pot pie are some of my fall food favorites; not so much for my family though, husband will grill steaks and beef ribs all year long! I rarely use a crock pot so can't help you out there but I see tons of recipes popping up on Facebook

I use my slow cooker allllll Winter. Here's an easy go to for pulled pork. I'll serve it as is with a veggie one day, as a sandwich another, and a third time to stuff a baked potato. It requires so little. I have a set it and forget it crockpot so I can delay it's start which makes life really easy. You'll need:

2.5 lb boneless pork roast
2 tsp red wine vinegar
2 tsp Hickory liquid smoke
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp sea salt
1 cup BBQ sauce of your choice

Put your boneless pork roast in (I like Boston Butt) and top with everything but the BBQ sauce. Cook on high for 6 hours. Using 2 forks, shred your pork and add the BBQ sauce. Cook for 1 more hour. That's it!

Awesome. 6 hrs is a piece of cake. Or at least a piece of butt!
