The Bar is Open!

Highland Park for me.

We're back, babee! We went to a hotel last night, and lo and behold, the power came back on around 9pm. when we gothome this morning, it was cool again in the house. (yesterday it was 91 degrees in here)

So we are back to electricity, tv, light, refrigeration and all of the other great first world things we take for granted. .

We arrived at the pub @ 2:30 to watch the Redbirds & Notre Dame games and we're still drinking the Clydesdale wee wee as Chuck likes to call it...

Great news Jeff about you being back home and life being somewhat back to normal.

Hey, look at you! With all you have going on you still had time to open the bar! Happy to hear things are getting back to normal for you and your family! Cheers.

I did but you know how it goes. Buy 'em the books send 'em too school....
Im starting to think the brainwashing in the Lou is real. They don't allow good beer into The city. It steals all the profit from the big red headed beer giant

Yesterday in the "Bar's open" thread I mentioned a "Glencairn glass". Two people PM'd me asking what it was so I thought I'd post it rather then just answering them.

The Glencairn whisky glass is a style of glass developed by Glencairn Crystal Ltd, Scotland for drinking whisky. Originally designed by Raymond Davidson, managing director of the company, the shape of the glass is derived from the traditional nosing copitas used in whisky labs around Scotland. The glass design was concluded with the aid of master blenders from five of the largest whisky companies in Scotland.

I completely understand, it's like trying to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and it annoys the pig.

Am I drinking alone tonight? Just got back from krav maga testing. It was strenuous and stressful, so I'm a bit wound up. But it was good and celebration is in order, so I cracked open a bottle of Suntori Toki, and served it over ice.

It's light, delicate, subtle fruit. Kinda nice.
