I can't believe that nobody in that church was carrying a firearm. They all obviously felt safe in that little town, in that little church, but it just goes to show that you must always be prepared and never let your guard down.

Was that a "gun-free" zone?

Not trying to be a smartass, just asking.

BTW, you will never find me at Mass empty-handed; I've got a responsibility to maintain.

My buddy up here went to a church where they had volunteers with CCW's in the church at all times when it was open. He was one of the volunteers. Sounds like a good idea to me.

I've been busy today and not paying much attention to the TV that is always on but why have I not seen anything about this?

My church is not posted and I always carry when attending but I'd continue to do that even if it were posted. My mother is with me 70% of the time and at almost 99 she can't move very fast so it would be a get down and defend ourselves from where we were.

Some chatter on Twitter that a neighbor to the church shot the guy causing him to flee the scene. We'll see if this gets reported. And yes Durbin and other Dems are already clamering for gun control.

I just don't get it. Being raised in a very religious family and being in a church 4-5 days a week I can't fathom someone taking a life in the house of the lord.

May the dead find eternal peace and their families be comforted by the hand of God......Amen
