Went to a local gun show yesterday. Met up with my friend John, you remember John, for his first gun show. We had a quick lunch on the way and hit the door just after noon. It's a small show but there was a good turn out and lot's of cool stuff to look at.
I had thought about getting a Kel Tec .22 mag. auto pistol. I know a guy who always has some at this show. He was there ...had two...sold them both Friday night. Rats... Also looking hard at a Sig Mosquito .22 auto, lightly used, $300.00. Very sweet piece. John was looking for a 1911, Lightweight Commander in 9mm. A Colt or Ruger. We didn't find any.
After a couple of hours we had seen everything we needed to see. While John was haggling with a guy over some .30 carbine ammo. I saw this little "black rifle" on a table ...an H&K MP5 A5, .22 LR. The guy behind the table is a small shop owner but had a couple of tables of "estate guns" he was selling on consignment. The H&K seems to be NIB, unfired and was purchased at Gander Mtn. in 2011 for $559.99. (I found the original receipt in the box). I got it for $390.00, otd, no tax.
I've already found a scope mount and extra mag online. I have two "red dots" that aren't doing anything. Plus I have several thousand .22s in my, soon to be depleted, back stock. Range report coming soon.
Also found this cool little Gerber knife called a Fatty. This guy had tables full of pocket knives...hundreds. High dollar stuff and junk. Lots of the packaging looked shopworn and old. Digging around I see this little ratty grey box marked Gerber ...hmm? The box looked old but the knife was sealed in it's plastic wrapper... new. Nice solid little working knife .... $5.00. Picked up two new cool toys for under
$400.00.... Ya gotta love gun shows.
