We now have adult supervision for the grandchildren that I've been watching all day so I can join you. My son just poured two glasses of Elijah Craig for us and a glass of wine for my daughter in law. I feel sorry for him, they've been hitting the malls since 7:00 AM getting all the Christmas shopping done for their 4 kids. I had the easy part, give them a handful of money, watch the kids, dogs and order the pizza's just before they got back. It's a dirty thankless job but someone had to step up and do it, cheers.
I haven't been to a mall in more then 2 decades. I love giving my daughter in law money to buy my gifts for the grandchildren and online shopping. God bless Amazon Prime, Freedom Munitions and GunBroker.
The last time for me was Christmas 2006 which was the first holiday after my divorce. I took my daughter Brooke who was 10 yrs old to buy her presents and we went to this teeny bop store named Hollister. She found what she wanted in this dimly lit store and placed the 4 items on the counter for me to pay. When the cashier said "That will be $260" I about fainted. Since that day it's straight cash homey to my daughter and we both seem to be alright with that arrangement.
I give my daughter in law money to buy the stuff the kids need. That frees me up to give them the stuff they don't need but helps them become the "Jack Pine Savages" they need to become.
My wife accuses me of being "Oh so tactful." I don't see any reason to bullshit people, I don't believe it does them any good.
