The Winchester House movie

Anyone know anything about this? It's supposed to be based on a true (or folklore) story about the heir to the Winchester fortune and a 600 room house that she built. It's quite a house! I've never heard of it before but if I'm ever out in San Jose, CA I would definitely want to tour it! Oh good grief! They have Halloween Candlelight tours and Friday the 13th flashlight tours...no thanks!

I saw a documentary about the Winchester House a number of years ago. The house is for real and Sarah Winchester was a real nut job.

She may have been that, but she was a wealthy nut job....

In 1880, Oliver Fisher Winchester died, leaving the succession of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company to his only son. One year later, William died of Tuberculosis at the age of 43. The double loss of Annie and William was a staggering blow to Sarah. However, the loss did leave the widow Winchester with an inheritance of 20 million dollars plus nearly 50% of the Winchester Arms stock–which, in turn earned her approximately $1,000 dollars per day in royalties for the rest of her life–the result of which made her one of the wealthiest women in the world.

Been to that house, it is trippy, stairways to nowhere, rooms with all kinds of mirrors. If your ever out to CA, you have to check it out.

Been there too. It's something else and I agree with you. If you're out here and in the San Jose area, it's a place to check out.

It's quite an interesting place, definitely worth the visit if you're in the Bay Area. I'm afraid much of the folklore surrounding the house is hyperbolic--much like CNN--based in reality, but embellished with the intent of selling viewership and admissions.
