What's In Your Range Bag

I was just getting my range bag ready for tomorrow and after I was finished I zipped it up, then picked it up and realized how heavy it was. Then I thought of Chuck's bag that has wheels on it and thought to myself----"Do I really need everything in there"

I'll be shooting by myself and wondered aloud if I really needed to take 400 rounds and three different pistols with me. By eliminating one of the 45's I could save lbs by not taking 15 loaded mags and the ammo that goes with it...Everything else besides the guns and ammo always stays in my range bag. I'll chime in later to tell you the other items.

So.....what's in your range bag ???

When I shoot nowadays, three handguns and a rifle is about the limit. Cleanup just becomes a chore with more than that. I bring a couple mags for each gun, and that's it. Loading is a Zen thing for me, so I don't need more magazines. I don't bring much in the way of tools. If a gun was to break, that's why I have spare guns. Besides, playing with tiny oily springs in the dirt is a recipe for sorrow.

I bring ear muffs, ear plugs, glasses, a rag, and that's all that comes to mind.

If I'm super-jazzed about a handgun, I might bring 250 rounds. For the other guns, 100-150 is about right. I don't like to run out prematurely. For a rifle, a couple hundred rounds is enough.

And all that is for outdoors. For an indoor session, two guns with 150 rounds for each is adequate. Indoors isn't very exciting for me, so an hour is enough.

I wish I hadn't lost my photobucket account, I had some real good pictures of my bag on there.

I have the bag fitted to carry 6 guns, 20 mags in the front pockets on the bag, 3 sleeves each containing 12 mags, eye and ear protection, targets, tool kit, small first aid kit, small cleaning kit with oil, knife, gloves and a bunch of stuff I can't think of right now. There is a spot for everything, nothing is just thrown in. I think fully loaded it's almost 50 lbs, thank god for the wheels on it.

This is a picture off a website of the bag I have.

Minus the guns, ammo and mags mine has the following items.

Two sets of safety glasses
3-4 small gun clothes to set my guns on
One UpLula mag loader
Small medical bag {band aids, extra contacts, small tube of liquid skin}
Small bottle of gun oil
One brass rod
Small stapler {for outside targets}
Small roll of red tape {used to mark problematic mags}
Two sets of ear muffs {one if I'm alone}
Ear plugs {To put in ears along with muffs when needed}
One I.C.E tag strapped to the outside of range bag
