...what's Putin shootin?

...I noticed an article about Vladimir Putin, this pic was attached. At a glance it looks like a kinda CZish pistol he's holding? It occurred to me someone here would know :-)

it looks like a Stechkin to me.

The Stechkin automatic pistol was adopted by the Soviet military in 1951, alongside the Makarov pistol. Both are chambered for the 9x18mm Russian cartridge, and both use simple blowback mechanisms. The Stechkin is a heavier and bulkier pistol, though, as it is designed for fully automatic fire.

If you're referring to the chin guard attached to the headphones that's to protect his chin from recoil should he get hit in the face.
I have a pair just like that.

I'm thinking we have a winner, they sure look similar. I saw the decocker looking lever in the initial image and thought CZ. I've never heard of a Stechkin, fully auto... Pretty cool Marshall.

Unhappy My 2 Worth!!

From the video, it seems to shoot well. However, it is ugly as sin!! This thing makes a Hi-Point pistol look good!!
