Another thing that really bothers me is why isn’t there any thoughts and prayers given to the Police Officers that have been forced to take a life? They will be affected by it for the rest of their lives but no one seems to give crap about them.

I don't know what happening to today's kids or anyone who would shoot up a school. In the last 2 days in my area there has been to schools districts shut down because of threats received through social media and other avenues that there would be school shootings. Everyone is on high alert and these kids are just plain dumb to post this S_ _ _ T online or anywhere else.

Of course they're dumb to print stuff. One thing about kids of this age group, if one tries to be different, they are ostracized.

For example, Billy Joel talks about the shoes (actually boots) of his group--which was my group. The lyrics go, "Only Flagg Brothers had 'em with the Cuban heel."

My high school had over 2000 students. The 'greasers' wore the boots, the 'kaleeg' wore maroon pants and paisley shirts. They were like uniforms.

So now we come to the present. If you're against guns, you march in the street and mouth the exact words barked by CNN. If you disagree, you make a "death list."

Sounds ridiculous, but even adults do it. If you go to Sturgis this year, count the number of black Harleys and blue jean vests. Even if you're fifty, you want to be part of the group.

No disrespect intended Chico. What does that signify if you have a black Harley and wear a blue jean vest? I was never associated with bikers, so bare with me....

I'm not sure that's so -- everything SURELY boils down to "safety in numbers" and attachment to our "tribe" -- which is a genetically related extended family. And it's not jealousy when a band of chimps patrols their "area" and viciously and violently rips a "not-us" chimp into small pieces. It's protecting scarce resources, and "our" offspring -- or those related to them.

It's why shunning used to be such a useful punishment -- if you're shunned, and driven out of the tribe: yer gonna die!
