What good is the Supreme Court if the decisions are not inforced? This walks all over Heller and Miller. Protecting firearms in Common lawful use. AR15 is Americas rifle and definetly fits Common use

Too close for comfort, it's about 30 miles north and doesn't effect me. This is not the first community in Illinois to do this, Highland Park, Chicago and Cook County have had their ban in place for years.

I could be totally wrong on this but I think if a city, town or village in the state of Illinois didn't have any laws other then the states on weapons then they couldn't amend or add to them. But if they had any kind of existing gun law on their books then they could amend it any way they want.

Exactly right. Someone will have to get fined and/or arrested, then file suit against the Village. I wonder how much it will cost that person to rename the Village after him/herself after their victory when it gets to SCOTUS.

Let us hope these local city bans do not gain to much steam. I am afraid it could get volatile in a hurry. I just do not see to many gun owners peacefully handing over their guns!

They are not collecting the guns, like in other towns that have banned them you can still own them you just can't have them in the town. Get a friend or relative that lives in another town where they are legal to have to hold them for you.
