UPS box coming today.

I ran out of Barges and I wanted to get a spare Spline for myself. Yikes, for a little knife it has a spring like a muskrat trap and the edge gets so toasty it spooked me.

However, Blue Ridge mandates you have a certain sized shipment, so I take orders until I hit that amount. Then my wife orders silver dollars as she has for more than a decade. She likes the ones from Blue Ridge because they are solid silver, not the sandwich variety.

As you know, I've been packing cheap knives for myself, just for the thrill of making them lethal--then I saw the invoice.

I spent more money on silver dollars this week than I did on knives.

There had better be one fantastic Spline in that box...

The UPS truck just left.

I got two Barges and the Spline, and the three silver dollars came individually wrapped and (like always) they looked like poof coins.

I'm hung up on the Spline. If I go to the mall, it rides with me in my right front pocket. The action is fantastic, and the edge is simply the perfect shape and ideal distal taper.

By the time you're grabbed me by the lapel, I've sliced most of the way through your wrist.

Do not let the price fool you. This is a knife where it all came together.

Don't worry, 'Snow, the coins were for Karen. She's the coin collector in the house.

In the old days when I was still hunting the woolly mammoth, if I did not order enough knives to make freight, I bought cheap knives I didn't really want.

Then I found out about their coins. Flawless, solid silver. We consider buying the coins to make a full freight load like this--if I have to spend money, it's nice to get it all back.

My wife has been collecting coins since she was a little girl. It's something she did with her father.

I'd go with the Mantis, it looks like it has the best edge.

Actually there are four Mantis Knives pictured all have pretty nasty edges. They have some creative designs in their catalog. Maybe not everyone's taste but I like them! I gave my two nephews Mantis blades for Xmas last year you should have seen their faces priceless.
