You would not believe the day I've had.

I had three Barges by the fixture, the shaping done and the stone polishing to begin. About an hour into the project, I checked one of the knives--it had scratches.

I checked the other two--they were scratched, too.

Since I did not know which stone made the scratches, out came the Atoma flattener and everything got squared up. I even made a deliberate pass on the edges of the stone in case a the flaw was on that area. (See picture below).

I was beat. So I went down to my shower in the lower level and took a good soak. I forgot to hang a towel on the curtain rod, so I hung over the edge of the tub and almost slipped. I kicked the tub, and stood up straight. Then it happened...

Suddenly, about twenty tiny blips of light bounced all over my vision like the pearls on a broken necklace. Within seconds, they cleared. As is required, I called a "vision change" into the retina clinic.

Of all the luck, the call was answered by my doc's wife, who is a nurse there. I described in detail the experience, she said she would check with the Gurkha and call me back. I just slid into bed clutching the phone, and wondering if I was going to need surgery.

Over an hour passed, and the nurse called back. I have a history of dizzy spells and I once fainted, ripping open my left eyebrow. She informed me--as my last appointment report showed--that my eye was thoroughly healed and this was not a retina event. She asked me about shadows, blood and pain, but I had none.

Then she reported that the Gurkha was not concerned, and I have an appointment inside a month. I should call back if anything develops.

So my wife and I went to the mall, had coffee and forgot about the whole nightmare. After two hours, we drove home.

Our gym has a physique competition for the female members, and it's amazing how incredibly beautiful and ripped these women are. They posted all the pictures in the second floor lobby. I remarked to my wife that because of the Miss America rules changes, I was surprised the pictures were posted. Personally, I find it uncomfortable to work-out next to a woman I just saw half-naked.

That must have struck my wife the wrong way. All the way to Subway she chewed me out for my "puritanical" principles. She told me the women worked hard, and wanted to show off the results.

I'm going to check the mail and go to bed. The Barges have been re-inked, the stones are back soaking, and I'm afraid I'll accidentally tick someone else off today.

If I offended you and you're mad, get in line...

Thank you, but this was not the result of the retina surgery--this was a dizzy spell. The doctor wants to know if any irregularities show up. What is a slight shadow to a patient might be a tear of a retina.

My eyes are clear, and I've read the last doctor's notes about thirty times. The eye is healed, the laser is stronger than flesh. The sparks just spooked me.

Dam! You’re talking about female physique contests and all we get is pics of stones! I mean, I guess they’re pretty nice stones and all but seriously?

I mentioned it to my wife in passing, just to make conversation. I didn't expect a tongue lashing. And I was disappointed the knives had to be re-done, and it put me a full day behind.

Usually I work out on Fridays and sleep in on Saturday. I got up now to take my medicine and I'll go back to bed. We have a therapist appointment this afternoon and I'd like to be sharp. Saturday is a zoo at the gym, but I get two more hours of sleep, and the knives should be done by then.

The stones were flattened, polished and cleaned. I cannot find the flaw. I guess you can reach a point where rest is the answer, not elbow grease.

Harrumph! It's not puritanical principles; it's an entirely legit reaction (for a man) to seeing half-naked women! It actually IS possible to 'show off' muscle development in a woman without stripping her down to 8-sq-inches of fabric!

However!! Just WHO decided to make THAT (seem) attractive?! {grumble} {grumble} A woman is SUPPOSED to have a 'skim' of subcutaneous fat all over her body, with some sex-related 'additional deposits' is some places! (That men find -- well, FOUND -- especially attractive!) She's SUPPOSED to be soft and comfortable looking (even while muscled enough to do the work life requires!) -- NOT look like a mannequin made of hard 'stuff' under skin! Not like a junior man!

Our "eyes" get ... (distorted, I claim!) ... 'used to' a certain look that is (that seems: that becomes by habituation!) "attractive." (It's not -- it's what we've been driven to see as attractive. Remember when a bare midriff was all the rage? Then it was big butts. Recently it was those idiot bare shoulders in shirts... Miniskirts? Maxi-skirts? Short-shorts? TIGHT jeans? Earlier it was big breasts. For the last, what, 20 YEARS: They always return to: a 14-yr-old BOY body with breasts glued on!?!

You know WHY the glued-on breasts?! Because NORMAL men did and do NOT find a 14-yr-old boy body even slightly attractive!! But, throw on some big gazzungas and the men will somehow manage to ignore the emaciated pipe-stem legs; the completely flat butt, and the masculine-shaped facial features! (And that hard, angry, expression.)(WHY don't models smile anymore?!) (You know, the BOY body -- with an angry/hostile face!)(Just WHO finds the 14-y-rold boy body attractive?! It ain't women, and it ain't straight men!)

WHY do you think the damned fashionistas push all this crap and distortion over and over?! Why do you think the BOY-body is so attractive TO the fashionistas in the biz!? (Can you guess? ) Jiminy crickets guys! Do you just NOT NOTICE how you're being manipulated?!)

Consider this, too. USED to be: Playboy and other "pretty women" mags used ACTUAL women-looking women in their pix! Over the decades (Yes, I'm old; YES, I've studied this) these" women" have gotten younger and younger looking! Models (boy and girls) LOOK like 7-yr-olds! Have you not SEEN the .... oh-so-careful push towards pedophilia over the past decades? You KNOW (don't you?) that all those little girl pageants, where 6- and 7-year-old girls dress up like (adult) sirens and sing (adult) sexy songs, and perform (adult) sexy struts, and so on are ACTUALLY PEDO HUNTING GROUNDS?!!?

Remember when gays "only wanted" to be allowed to be "out?? Then married. Then school teachers. Then adopting babies. Then Boy Scout masters (and the Supreme Court RULED that the BSA could deny them -- and then... just who?! ... buried them under several HUNDRED "lawfare" (legal warfare) suits to force them into giving up even WITH a Supreme Court decision on their side!

(The usual disclaimer: I have gay friends, they are married and I'm okay with it -- THEY share my culture! THEY are part of my 'tribe.' However, for example: the ones in the ass-less chaps marching in SFRAN to 'force' acceptance (which cannot be forced!), and the ones dressed in nun's costumes ... with holes in all the wrong places ... pulling a mostly naked man on a leash? THEY MUST GO BACK IN THE CLOSET!! NOT part of my culture -- part of the destruction of my culture!)

HuffPo, was it, ACTUALLY tried to make pedophilia acceptable by publishing an article BY A PEDO claiming he wants to be accepted for who he is, CLAIMS he has never harmed a child, but it is just the way he is, and he, TOO, should be allowed to be "out" of the closet as a pedo. NO! Just NO!

How did we get (and WHY is it continuing to accelerate?!)(and JUST WHO is pushing it?!) to trannies and 57 different pronouns for "non-binary" mental illnesses? Oh, and the damned "conservatives" are just (and have been for more than FIFTY YEARS!) "graceful losers" -- they have conserved NOTHING! Not even women's bathrooms! (Nor children's safety!) If you still call yourself a conservative: a.) shame on you and b.) come to the dark side; start reading up on the Alt Right -- but NOT in the MSM! The MSM is a full partner in the destruction of our culture; in the forcing of (outward) acceptance of mental illness and pedophilia!

Vox Popoli: What the Alternative Right is
TL;DR: The Alt Right is a Western ideology that believes in science, history, reality, and the right of a genetic nation to exist and govern itself in its own interests.
Vox Popoli: Incoherencies and the Alt-Right
The correct description of the Alt-Right is neither white nationalist nor pan-nationalist, but omni-nationalist. White nationalism is, obviously, an integral element of the Alt-Right, and it is supported by all white Alt-Rightists, but the Alt-Right also supports Hungarian nationalism, and Japanese nationalism, and even, in almost every case, Israeli nationalism. The Alt-Right does not want a pan-white nation to rule the world; it has learned from the failures of British, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Soviet, and American imperialism.

NB: I ran the 16 Points of the Alt-Right by an academic expert on Fascism and National Socialism. His conclusion? While he did not agree with most of the 16 Points, he also observed that they contained nothing that could credibly described as neo-Nazi. Nothing. His words, not mine.
Vox Popoli: All the news that's fit to fake
It is informative that even the New York Times feels it is necessary to resort to quoting non-entities, extremists, and people who explicitly disavow the Alt-Right label rather than those who openly embrace it in order to make what passes for their case. They do so because they have no effective response to us. They have no ability, no capacity, to even begin to engage in discourse with the greater part of the Alt-Right, because their perspective has been rendered outdated and irrelevant by events.
...
Racial separation is not supremacy. Are we Indians Red Supremacists because we insist on keeping our reservations? The constant conflation of separation with supremacy by the Fake News is completely and shamelessly deceitful. That's why they can't quote me. To do so will explode their false narrative and demonstrate its intrinsic dishonesty.

Vox Popoli: The new William F. Buckley
As it turns out, it's Jonah Goldberg who has turned out to be the true heir to William F. Buckley, as he is attempting to repeat his predecessor's example in reading the 160,000-strong John Birch Society out of the conservative movement in a column entitled "Time to John Birch the Alt-Right".
...
It's rather like watching monkeys puzzle over a computer and start licking the keyboard and putting the mouse in their mouths in order to figure out how to make it work. It is two long time ideologists trying, and failing, to make sense of identity politics. And speaking of identity, how many of the growing number of people who describe themselves as Alt-Right, who watch Stefan's videos or read Richard Spencer's articles or listen to The Right Stuff or Red Ice podcats or look over my 16 Points with approval, do you believe to be so concerned that Jonah Goldberg - Jonah F. Goldberg! - would classify them as supremacists that they will flee from the brand with all due alacrity?

This is AAA Grade cuckservative projection: the belief that the key to all persuasion is to convince the other person that failing to do as you want will lead to someone calling you racist.

Point 12: The Alt-Right doesn't care what you think of it.

All right, all right.... you hit a sore spot with me! AND I'm sucking cawfee! AND I'm also stressed! And this is a true deep destruction wrought on our people by malign forces!! (And dammnit! MOST folks are still asleep!)

Thank you, 'Snow, it saved me a telephone call. I'm still a bit jumpy for some reason. I was just to the dentist for a filling and he gave me a complete "soft tissue exam." The Gurkha checked my eyes about 2 months ago and said they were "perfect." I have no eye symptoms, at all.

But as you know, I go into a funk the day after a procedure, and I do not know why. And the filling was the day before the shower and the dots of lights flying in all directions.

I have a "safety net" with the Gurkha. If I get worried beyond comfort, even if I see nothing, he has given me permission to just show up.

I just have this slightly jumpy feeling of being "shot at and missed."

Edit: Oh, and I see a therapist this afternoon.

Concatenation of nudges! Remember, your body, and your old 'scars' are pushing on you BECAUSE you're doing so much better! You're not having a point of focus on "oh my god I'm dying!!" (cause you're NOT! ), which means you're not having a point of focus! So, go eat a (small!) cupcake and celebrate that you're WAY much better with WAY better coping skills! (And then the cupcake will give you an insane rise in blood sugar and you'll have a stomach ache to focus on! Tee hee hee! (So, maybe not! Have some cashews instead!)

El

p.s., I mean REALLY! Look how calm you were about the sparking?! Not hysterical race to the doc; merely a "oh damn what is this?" phone call! WHOO HOO!!!

And now some positive news.

As you know, I took all the stones and flattened them and thoroughly cleaned them. They soaked as the ink dried, and promised myself I would begin the re-polish this morning. I did not need that much time.

I started at the bottom of the shaping scale at 600 grit. Even that stone slid like it was riding on cream. The blue speckled 2000 was almost a single pass cutter.

Then I was getting up into the polishing realm and took out the 5000. I cut the ink off north/south and then switched over to east/west, and got a matted, flawless sheen! The scratches were gone!
