Muir Woods :-)

...I've been working on a project on the west coast, bay area recently. Over the years when I've worked out here I've always explored the "paths less taken". These are places off the grid but lots of fun, being a fan of "Uncle Jerry" and the boys seeing Phil Lesch at Terrapin Crossroads last week was great though :-)
This week for my day off I visited Muir Woods National Monument, the jewel of Mill Valley. Although this park falls in the "touristo" category as far as things go, it's pretty cool. There is a main trail (really easy) on a boardwalk with basically no incline. It takes you through old growth trees and parallels a stream that hosts native salmon. I took an offshoot trail a few miles and the fitbit said 58 floors, really nice views, the pics don't do it justice...
I'll give Muir Woods a thumbs up :-)

Yeah, it's pretty awesome, especially considering how close to civilization it is. But there's so much awsomosity here when you step off the beaten path, it will take me several more lifetimes to explore it all.

Here's a little tip that you might appreciate while you're visiting the Bay Area.

Q. Do you know what to do if you're in San Francisco and accidentally drop your hotel keys?

A. Kick them over the bridge to Oakland.

You're right in that the things to see in CA and the rest of the good ol USA too are seemingly endless. Despite the problems we're blessed, it's a shame more people don't take a second to look around?
...on the keys, in San Fransicko, you better take a good look around before you do anything especially bend over to pick them up! Watch where you step too!!!

I grew up in the Bay Area, Walnut Creek at the base of Mt Diablo. Gorgeous country. Was just out there a couple months ago visiting family.

From crowded cities to nature within minutes is the theme throughout California. A spectacular state... other than politics.
