Quick or Dead

Which holster or any other manner of carry affords you the quickest most inconspicuous draw of your CCW?

I've been a Bianchi fan for +30 years. I choose the "right kidney" thumb-break model. It is secure for even motorcycle rides, but with the press of your thumb it draws smoothly.

2 o'clock appendix carry Blackhawk TecGrip IWB Airweight J-frame. Easy carry, easy draw. Can draw standing, sitting, from under coat, seat belt. No reaching, gun is always right under my hand. Hides under even the lightest tee shirt.

During the summer months I carry a smaller pistol like my Micro 9 in a Talon IWB; appendix style, covered by a loosely fitted T-shirt. I guess I would say that I am slim and it's easy to access even when I'm sitting. It's a quick and easy draw without a lot of obvious movement of my arms or clothing.
During cooler weather I will carry, in my Talon OWB holster, a larger gun like my Colt Defender stationed at 3 o'clock with the forward cant. And covered by an unbuttoned flannel or denim long tail shirt which allows for a quick sweep of the shirt tail to access the firearm.
If it's really cold and I'm all buttoned and zipped up in a jacket, which makes it slower to access my Defender, I'll also slip that little Micro 9 into my jacket pocket and use it to fight my way to my 45.IMG_2193.JPG

The fastest timed draw (and shot on target) that I have ever witnessed was a woman in a Concealed Carry class who had her hand on her pistol in her shoulder bag/purse when the buzzer sounded. Her time was half of the next best shooter, and it was about a third of my time.

In cool/cold weather the Galco Miami Classis shoulder rig is just right for the custom or pro size 1911s. I like that the seat belt doesn't interfere with it.

For warm weather it's pocket carry, either a S&W 642 or a Glock G43. Galco makes nice pocket holsters, IMO.

I pocket carry which is fraught with all sorts of problems when it comes to draw speed and accessibility.

However, there are times when "inconspicuous" and speed come together. If I see something possibly threatening but not ready to draw, it's easy to inconspicuously place my hand in the pocket and have the gun in-hand for immediate presentation.

I have what I consider the best of the best pocket holster for a 642 (J-frame) -- Mika.

For my LCP I use a DeSantis Nemesis for pocket carry but I wouldn't consider it anything special nor do I consider anything in class a significant standout.
