Courtesy of Jim Croce....

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with Jim..

You can now add "Don't taunt a Gator"....

I hate to hear this but come on man! You're gonna jump in the water at night where you know there's alligators present? He must have been sauced because no way would a sober person do that unless you're just plain nutso. We've killed quite a few right from our boat dock at our lake house and these things are huge!! With small children and dogs running around there we take no chances.

And that John boat is 14 feet long for reference......

ETA: That's my niece. Not sure what the pouty face is about, lol

He lived in St. Louis before moving to Texas. There probably aren't a lot of alligators around St. Louis. The only one he probably ever saw before was his neighbor's pet that was about two feet long . . .

Well common sense eluded him. A normal person, having never seen an alligator at all, would still know not to swim them.

Only when our very own Gator from KT comes to town...

This was the only time that I can remember a gator being close to our town and it was across the Missouri river in St Charles...
