My dog loves me so much...

...that he sleeps on my underwear. And it's Harley underwear.

Bikers are loyal to each other, and that ideology transcends to our pets. Okay, okay, he was tired--and I can only guess this results from patrolling the house, protecting me with his very life.

The fact that he cannot jump high enough to get on our luxurious bed baffles me--but he's patrolling...

BTW, his name is "Niko."

In the words of Will Rogers -

“If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.”

We have a copy of "The Rainbow Bridge" which accompanied the ashes of his sister, my dog, "Sasha."

I cannot wait to see her on "the other side."

+ One on The Rainbow Bridge. Much comfort for the dreaded day when our best friend leaves us.

Ten to fifteen years of joy, three months of grief. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

Me neither. Sometimes, when things go bad, I pray for my Guardian Angel (I call him 'Harold') to just come and get me.

I have had all the women, money, motorcycles, knives, accolades and broken bones any man would be proud to brag about.

But then, I've had Sasha on my chest late at night, a gentle snore and her eyes half open. There's no price on that.

I have a copy of "The Rainbow Bridge" as well. Thank you for the reminder. My best friend turns eleven next month and is blind from diabetes. I will miss her when she dies.

Sasha died in bed, with my wife and I and her brother. She walked around in a small circle, laid down, and slowly went to sleep. I carried her to the emergency veterinarian to "be called."

That was 3:00AM, on Thanksgiving in 2017. We don't celebrate the holidays here anymore.

Dogs are my favorite 'people.'

In fact, if you scan down the list of my favorite folks, you'll find my wife is close to the top of the list--the rest is all dogs.

In fact, I think the next human that is tabulated comes in at seventeenth...
