Bought the same gun twice.

A couple of years ago I challenged my grandson to get on the honor roll as he wasn't doing very well in his last year of high school. And I know it was just a motivation thing so to help him out I promised to give him my Sig P238 Nitron if he made the honor roll. Well he did and I gave it to him. So this winter he went out and got an apartment with his girlfriend, committed himself to a lease and calls me up last week and asked me if I want to buy back the P238 that I gave him for free. So I did; but I only offered him $400.
So now I have a nice little pocket 380 that I spent a total of $1000 on after buying it twice.
Kids, Now a days. Sheesh.

Well, 400 dollars is a good price. I just bought a knife for 400 bucks.

I could have just given him the money and let him keep the gun but someone's got to teach him that bad decisions sometimes produce bad results. He had it made living at home with his dad and going to school.
And I advised him to stay put for a couple years. He didn't take my advice. Oh well. (or as the kids say, "whatever")

It's going to make a good BUG.

When I gave him this pistol I told him in no uncertain terms that he cannot sell pawn or loan this gun to anyone but me.
Same goes for the Glock 43 I gave him on his 19th birthday. I expect next month I'll be getting a call to buy that back again.

Its a great lesson your teaching him. When I was young my father would always give me advice. I would say in my head , what does he know hes an old man. Well If my dad was still alive I would hug him and tell him everything he advised me on was true. I guess he was trying to help me not to make the same mistakes he made.

Gramps? That means tomorrow he'll won't remember any aspect of the transaction, the kid will have stolen the pistol back, and his wife will be shopping for clothes...
