I hate to wait!

Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. All good things will come to he who waits. What a crock! I have a new, fantastic knife coming! The UPS hub says it's coming today--between 1:30PM and 4:30PM.

It's 2:00PM now, the guy is 30 minutes late...

I have kept myself busy and charitable. As sick as I am I'm working on a client's knife--I don't want him to wait either. But let's be honest, carefully working on a knife is harder than stepping off a truck and walking 30 feet to a guy's door with a tiny cardboard box!

It's a Protech/Emerson collaborative--I didn't even know they made them! And a coil-drive switchblade on top of that!

..I'm going to sleep with mine...

No, I have this one coming--I probably will not have to sharpen it, to boot!

Maybe a CRKT AOC, you can shut them off...

I figure all that comes to he who waits is death, faster than he'd probably prefer; and I'd prefer to spend as much of my time here as possible with what I want before that happens, not pining for it. First world problems, I know, but the punchline is that I too hate waiting. Hey, Western civilization we've inherited wasn't built by people who were content with the status quo...

Tourist, you are talking about knives.
Look in the silverware draw.....there's a bunch there. No big deal. Now if it was a gun....no matter what kind, that's a big deal. On this site anyway.

Trident, one thing I've learned about gun forums is that sooner or later a hobbyist here is going to need a knife. Give you a fer-instance.

I worked for about five years in a local sporting goods store (in their gun department) sharpening knives.

A common question was, after buying a Weatherby rifle replete with a Leupold scope, the client would ask me, "Which is the best nine dollar knife?"

Take a guess what item failed on the hunt and might have ruined a trophy mount.

Ergo, you wouldn't take a very expensive Emerson handmade knife and cheap .22LR rifle to hunt an elk. You pick the right tool for the first job.

My additions here are simply a "thank you" to Chuck. He knew the marriage of "knives and guns," and we found some useful and common ground. It is my hope that several members who also hunt have decided to use modern sharpening items to enhance these hunts.
