Laser grips anyone?

Between the wife and I we have four sets of Crimson Trace laser grips.
What are your thoughts?
Love them? Hate them?
Take them or Leave them?

I don't care for them, I got a set with a gun I bought 3 years ago. I tried shooting with them but kept chasing the laser, shot some of the worse groups I've shot in years. Gave them to my son who has been shooting handguns for 30 years and about 3 weeks later he gave them back. He said he didn't like them, kept chasing the laser. They're now sitting in a box on the floor of one of my gun safes.

Not sure I understand what "chasing the laser" is.

I have a set and they are OK. Mine came with them but had plain black sights. I wondered what would happen in a low light situation if the CT grips died? I had Mepro Light night sights installed. When I shoot normally with the CT I see my shaky red dot and it makes me more shaky. I quit using them that way and shoot them two handed from the hip. It's more accurate for me!

Can't recall seeing anyone shoot worse with a laser but lasers do provide immediate feedback for how steady a shooter is holding aim which can be a distraction. I can only imagine Chuck's head bouncing around like a bobble-head chasing a laser dot with an unsteady hold.

I have CT on my Solo but the laser really doesn't help anything when the gun don't work . Put a green laser on my M&P 15-22. It was a lot of fun shooting from the hip. More to the point, unconventional shooting positions is one of the main advantages using a laser. Self defense situations don't always allow for a practiced conventional shooting stance, presentation or sight picture.

Unlike red lasers, green can be seen at modest distances outside daylight. Green lasers are wicked cool at night like a green tube of light. Pets love to chase lasers in the house.

Generally speaking, I think lasers are a fine addition but I don't use them.

I never really cared for a laser. I can see the benefits like Phil listed above but I really don’t shoot any better with them. I do like that a sold my last set for more than I paid for them.

There's a very simple answer to this problem.

My Crimson Trace has an "on-off switch." I find this simple device invaluable for switching off the feature when unwanted, and instantly making the laser beam available if I need instant incapacitation of an attacker.

My guess is that many of us leave it on, finding it a distraction, or leaving it off thereby defeating a life saving attribute...
