Knife guy flips out.

Just outside of Tokyo yesterday on Tuesday a guy with a knife in each hand attacked a group of school children and their teachers at a bus stop. Killing three and wounding 16 others. He then committed Harakiri.

Knives are VERY restricted in Japan. Carrying anything over 2 inches is forbidden. I think they have allowances for carrying a set of kitchen knives home from the store and stuff like that.

I learned this due to a friend's son stationed in Japan. He was a knife guy and kept sending his purchases to his father here in Chattanooga. Curious about it I asked why.....

They've had several attacks like this in the past few years. Proving it's not the tool at blame, it's the nut job behind it. And laws don't stop criminals or wack jobs. When knives are outlawed only outlaws will have them.

Maybe the Japanese people should have to take a knife safety/handling course and prove their skill set before owning or carrying a knife off any length. This would ease anxieties of the Japanese people so they won't keep sending anti-knife zealots to Tokyo.

At the bottom of an article from Kyodo News, it had this list of past knife attacks. One killed eight people, one killed seven, and one managed to kill 19 disabled people, all without the aid of an AR15.

Sept. 8, 1999 -- Man attacks pedestrians with a knife and hammer in Tokyo's Ikebukuro district, killing two and injuring six.

Sept. 29 -- Man kills five people and injures 10 after driving a car into a crowd at JR Shimonoseki Station in Yamaguchi Prefecture before stabbing passersby.

June 8, 2001 -- Knife-wielding man enters an elementary school in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture, killing eight students and wounding 15 other pupils and teachers.

March 23, 2008 -- Man stabs pedestrians with a knife near a shopping mall in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki Prefecture, leaving one man dead and seven others injured.

June 8 -- Man kills seven people and wounds 10 after mowing down pedestrians with a truck in a vehicle-free zone before going on a stabbing spree with a knife in Tokyo's Akihabara district.

June 22, 2010 -- Former temporary worker of automaker Mazda Motor Corp. hits employees with a car at a plant in Hiroshima Prefecture, leaving one man dead and 11 wounded.

July 26, 2016 -- Former employee of a residential mental health care facility in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, stabs residents and employees, killing 19 disabled people and injuring 26 others.

Sadly, the UK has gone down this same path. 1st guns were outlawed and then 'bigger' knives. Now, absolutely no knives outside the house. What's happened? People are getting beat to death. The Pol's don';t learn, but they feel good, because they put in place some meaningless rules. They can then say,"we tried".
