Switchblade law repealed

April 2019, Montana just joined 16 other states in repealing it's antiquated switchblade laws.
How about your state?

Since 2013, double edged since last year. I haven’t gotten around to that part yet myself.

The only time a person is restricted from a knife is if they have been convicted of a crime or insanity.

Those who do not fit into either category may own any type of knife in Utah. :-)

Not sure when the law went into effect. But as long as it's 3.5" or under, it's legal. Being a Constitutional Carry state (no permit needed for concealed carry) … no one seems too concerned with what knife you carry … only what you do with it.

Oh … and I have three "automatics" … two Boker Kalashnikovs and a Bench Made … all legal length. I carry a Boker as EDC.

Been legal in Illinois for about 3 years now if you have a F.O.I.D. card.

Switchblades are now legal in Michigan. Unfortunately, there is no preemption, so any municipality can make their own rules. As STUPID as that is.

Yup, double edge is still illegal to carry in Michigan but you can own it. Also most cities and townships are 3” or less, east Lansing is 4” or less. They definitely need a no blade length limit and be able to carry a fixed blade. State preemption needs to be a must have same as firearms.
